Forti, the Boy who Cried Wolf Forti, the Boy who Cried Wolf

Once upon a time there was a young shepherd called Forti, who spend most of his time looking after his sheep. He was bored a lot of the time just watching them eat grass, so he started to think of things to do to have fun.

Once day, he decided that it would be a good idea to have fun at the expense of the people from the nearby village. He went nearby and started to shout:
- Help!The wolf!The wolf is coming!

The people from the village picked up whatever was to hand and went running to help the poor shepherd Forti who was shouting. When they arrived, they discovered that it was all Forti`s annoying joke. And they got angry.

After they had gone, Forti started to think that the joke was so funny that he thought of playing it again. When he saw the people were far enough away, again he shouted:
- Help! The wolf! The wolf is coming!

When they heard him again, the people from the village started to run again, thinking that the wolf really had come this time and Forti really was shouting for help. But when they got to Forti, they found him on the ground, laughing at how the villagers had come back to help him.

This time, the villagers got even more irritated, and they stormed away, terribly annoyed.

The next morning, Forti returned to the same field to graze his sheep. He still laughed when he remembered how the villagers ran. But he didn’t think that the wolf would come along that same day.

Fear invaded his body and, seeing that the wolf was getting closer, he started to shout:
- Help! The wolf! The wolf is coming! It is going to eat all of my sheep!Help!

But his shouts fell on deaf ears, as the villagers had learnt their lesson from the day before.

Forti saw that the wolf was rushing towards his sheep, and he shouted more and more desperately:
- Help! The wolf! The wolf! - but the villagers went about their business, paying him no attention.

So Forti had to stand by and watch the wolf eat a few sheep and take some more away for dinner, without being able to do anything. And he felt deeply sorry for the joke that he had played the day before.

The End THE END (based on the story The Boy who Cried Wolf)
